Sub: Formation of OBC Cell

Formation of OBC Cell is formed with the following composition

Introduction:

Noamundi College, Noamundi is opposed to all sorts of caste-based education system and it never indulges in any type of caste-discrimination while imparting education for all in the society. In pursuance to this type of ideal as an educational institution the College has formed OBC cell vide decision of the Governing Body of the College. The basic purpose of creating this cell is to look into the special needs of the students belonging to OBC category. It has been duly decided in the meeting that the cell is to be reconstituted periodically to cater to the changing needs of target groups of students. In adherence of UGC Policy on prevention of caste-based discrimination in HEIs, the OBC cell of the College sets its goals to function within the campus since the day of its introduction.

Objectives:

1. To promote higher education among OBC communities suffering from economic / social and educational deprivations.
2. To function as an organ of grievances redressal to the students of OBC categories.
3. To monitor and evaluate the reservation policies and other programmes intended for OBC students within the campus.
4. To suggest follow-up measures to the College administration for successful implementation of Government policies to empower the students of such backward classes in the society.
5. To introduce and make the students of the College aware of various government scholarships.
