Objectives of the RTI Cell

The Right to Information (RTI) Cell is constituted to ensure transparency, accountability, and easy access to information in accordance with the Right to Information Act, 2005. The objectives of the RTI Cell are:

1. To promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of the institution.
2. To facilitate timely access to information requested under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
3. To ensure proper maintenance and management of official records.
4. To create awareness among students, faculty, and staff regarding the provisions of the RTI Act.
5. To receive, process, and monitor RTI applications submitted to the institution.
6. To ensure compliance with the provisions of the RTI Act, 2005.
7. To encourage good governance and ethical administrative practices.
8. To maintain records of RTI applications, replies, and appeals.

To establish a transparent, accountable, and citizen-friendly institutional administration through effective implementation of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

Mission

• To promote openness and transparency in institutional governance.
• To ensure timely dissemination of information.
• To strengthen accountability in administration.
• To provide easy access to public information as permitted under the RTI Act.
• To maintain accurate and updated institutional records.

Functions of the RTI Cell

• Receive RTI applications from applicants.
• Forward applications to the Public Information Officer (PIO).
• Monitor the disposal of RTI applications.
• Maintain records of applications, replies, and appeals.
• Assist applicants in obtaining information as per RTI provisions.
• Conduct awareness programmes on the RTI Act.
• Ensure compliance with statutory timelines.

• The Right to Information Act, 2005
• Rules and Guidelines issued by the Government of India
• Government of Jharkhand Notifications (where applicable)
• Kolhan University Statutes and Institutional Rules
